What to expect before/in/after your session and how we will keep us all safe!

Before your session:

We will be emailing (or possibly calling) a confirmation/reminder about your appointment. In that email, you will be asked to consider how you are feeling and we will list the questions we want you to consider especially concerning COVID-19 symptoms but honestly, if you are not feeling well in a sickly way, we ask that you call or email to reschedule. We do have a cancellation policy that is very reasonable but even that is being waived for the most part. You will not be charged for rescheduling or canceling unless you just do not show up without contacting us. If you have previously tested positive for COVID-19 30 days prior to your appointment, please bring documentation of your test date to confirm.

Showing up for your session: Properly worn masks are required to walk in the building and are required for the massage! This means covering both nose and mouth at all times and we highly encourage medical grade/substantial masks.

Please sanitize or wash your hands immediately (we have some sanitizer on the hall table and also in the reception room on the desk, the bathrooms are down the hall to the left) and have a seat. Since we are staggering clients and not at full work capacity, we do not expect clients to overlap but if you have to be in proximity to another person please maintain the 6 ft for physical distancing.

When we are ready to bring you into the treatment room, we will greet you at the door and may take your temperature with a no-touch thermal temperature reader to make sure you don't have a fever. We will ask if you have any symptoms of illness including a cough or digestive issues. If you have a fever or symptoms of illness we will reschedule your massage session to a later date. While COVID-19 is present in the community we will do our best to limit talking to only communication necessary for ensuring a comfortable and safe massage.

All clients will have to fill out a new health form (one time only…unless new pregnancy or new postpartum) and a COVID-19 release form.

During your session:

Not too much has changed for the actual massage (THANK GOODNESS) with the exception of masks. We will be wearing a mask and you will be wearing a mask. We are trained in great hygiene already and that will continue. We wash our hands immediately before and after each massage.

After your session:

We will exit the room (and go wash our hands, of course) for you to get dressed. When you are ready please open the door and we will step back in to finish up. We do not have contactless payment in the office but we will be wiping down (in front of you) the card reader and the device you must sign. You may prepay for your appointment via your email if you chose.

If you develop symptoms of illness or test positive for COVID-19 within two weeks of your massage session, please call us immediately.

Here’s where the real fun begins for us…..Sanitation Protocols after each client:

  • all sheets, coverings, and blankets removed from room and placed in laundry

  • clean and sanitize table, bolsters, pillows, chair and any surface client has possibly touched

  • wiping down office and bathroom fixtures

What has changed in our practice due to COVID-19?

First and foremost it is the mask wearing and while we acknowledge some people choose not to wear a mask, it will not be optional for our business. We have always held ourselves to a higher standard on cleanliness and sanitation because of our intimate and healthcare like setting but we have adjusted a few things to accommodate an even higher level of disinfection. Our tables have a vinyl covering and all of our bolsters and pillows have been covered in a vinyl wrapping to assist in easy cleaning. Every room has a HEPA air purifier and each therapist wipes down their room, including door handles and chairs as well as the protocols mentioned above and if their client was in the reception room they also wipe down the door handles and the desk. Pretty much we walk around with a sanitizing wipe in hand, at least that is how it feels. We are also attempting to stagger client appointments to prevent overlap. While this will not always work perfectly, we have plenty of space to use physical distancing if you happen to come upon another person.

We will never promise risk-free but we will promise to be healthy, be clean, and do the most we can do to keep the risk low.
